Atlanta Leader
Ladies, Wine & Design is a global non-profit initiative with chapters in 285+ cities worldwide. Founded in 2015 by Jessica Walsh, our mission is to represent and connect women and non-binary creatives by organizing mentorship circles, workshops, talks and creative meetups in a safe environment. In Atlanta, I have been leading local chapter since 2019.
The Atlanta Chapter
The initiative
Founded in 2015 by Jessica Walsh, LW&D started when a social study revealed that only 0.1% of creative agencies are founded by women & non-binary people. And the numbers are even smaller for women/non-binary BIPOC.
Our mission is to see more diversity in the creative industry, especially within leadership roles. LW&D takes an intersectional approach to this work by offering mentorship circles, portfolio reviews, talks & creative meetups for underrepresented creatives.
Local chapters
Since I took over in 2019, the Atlanta local chapter has grown exponentially; gaining more visibility in the local creative scene thanks to social media exposure, and becoming a real networking resource for new and recurrent participants.
Thanks to Ampersand’s studio sponsorship, we have been able to elevate our chapters’ experience, supporting other women owned businesses, and promoting local talent and product. We keep innovating to always feature relevant topics, and promote other creative events to grow the network.
